Rabbi Dr. Chaim Tureff is the founder and director of STARS, (Spiritual Teachings and Recovery Service), which guides people struggling with addiction. He graduated from the UNC-Chapel Hill with Honors and Distinction in History. He received his MA in Elementary Education from Columbia University. He received his semicha (Rabbinical ordination) from Rav Dan Channen, shlita in Jerusalem and he is an alumnus of the Darchei Noam Yeshiva of Jerusalem. He received his Ed.D in Jewish Education from Gratz College with High Honors while receiving the L. Bernard Rabinowitz Memorial Award. His focus was on the role Judaism and spirituality play in helping recovering addicts.
